GILES DENMARK IN FRANCE

"This is a view from the terrace of the house I rented in Bize-Minervois overlooking the River Cesse that I painted in oils in 1999. The figure in black - represents my self. In days past I used to read the Tarot cards, amd now I use the I Ching. I have entered homes where rooms are unusually cool, and have sensed entities in rooms. When i paint and perform i read and the essence of others to interact - peoples energy, their inner being, and have created portraits from that. " giles denmark mitchell




"This is a view from the terrace of my father's villa in Ouveillan that I painted in watercolours in 1992. The small house in view with the window opens up ideas of what it meant. My father died in the Lake District in UK, his ashes spread on the walks he and his family took there, close to Derwent Water, Seathwaite in Borrowdale, and Keswick. The villa in Ouveillan has been sold - but his roses are still in the garden last time I looked." giles denmark mitchell
