GILES MITCHELL 1955-1974
GROWING UP AND ART AND MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATIONS IN NOTTINGHAM
Oil Painting. View of Garage, with entrance to the house at 18 Magdala Road, Nottingham. Giles Mitchell (aka Giles Denmark). 1966.
My parents came to Nottingham, from London, in 1955 - I remember arriving in Victoria Station, in Nottingham where you could hardly see anything because of smog. I went to primary school at Mountford House School (closed 2008) in Carrington, Nottingham. Then went onto Nottingham High School (founded in 1513). After that went to Trent Polytechnic and had a foundation there, before getting a Diploma in Fine Art at Trent. (I wanted to go to Leeds, or Falmouth!).
